Calcipotriene, also known as Calcipotriol
is a synthetic derivative of Calcitrol which is an active metabolite of Vitamin
D.
A vitamin D3 analog, Calcipotriene is a valuable
drug used as a first-
or second-line therapy option for the management of mild to moderate psoriasis. Calcipotriene works by inhibiting cell
proliferation and enhancing cell differentiation in the skin of patients with
psoriasis.
Synthesis
of Calcipotriol involves various stereo selective processes and therefore,
several undesired isomers and diastereomers were formed during its synthesis. In-House
Reference standards of these are available at Pharmaffiliates Analytics and
Synthetics P. Ltd
1. Calcipotriene -
impurity B or (7Z)-Calcipotriol
2. Calcipotriene - impurity C or (5E)-Calcipotriol
3. Calcipotriene - impurity D or
24-epi-Calcipotriol
Calcipotriene - Impurity B and Calcipotriene - impurity C are the
geometric isomers of Calcipotriene present as an impurity and are formed during
its synthesis.
Calcipotriene - Impurity D is a C-24 diastereomer of
Calcipotriene formed as an undesired product during the synthesis of Calcipotriene.
All the above mentioned
in-house standards are available at
Pharmaffiliates in a pack size of 25mg and 50mg at a very competitive price.
Pack size can also be customized as per the need of the customer.
All
the impurities supplied by Pharmaffiliates are with complete structure
elucidation and data interpretation with high end analytical techniques like
NMR, MASS and Chromatographic purity along with detailed Certificate of Analysis.
